Visits and heritage in Ille-et-Vilaine

From megalithic sites to medieval castles, visits in Ille-et-Vilaine are a celebration of history. The ingenious Marquis of Vauban left a legacy of nearly 250 structures. Some of the constructions by the favourite engineer of Louis XIV can be admired in Ille-et-Vilaine. Off the coast of Saint-Malo, four forts built out at sea bear witness to his talent.

In Rennes and the surrounding area, you can visit many historic monuments with unique architecture. The Rennes opera house, inaugurated in 1836, continues to surprise visitors with its rounded façade and lyrical decorations.

Ille-et-Vilaine hides many treasures that you can discover and idyllic places to explore!
