-
The Dol Marshes cover an area of 12,000 hectares. They can be divided into two sections - the Marais Noir (Black Marsh) consisting of peat, which lies around the town of Dol and the Marais Blanc (White Marsh) further North consisting of sea-sand. Mont Dol is an outcrop of granite 65 metres high in the depths of the countryside. It is also a megalithic site (flints, bones dating from the Palaeolithic Era).
